immediately!\u00a0 We took her outside and played in the yard and knew she was the one for us!\u00a0 We went back in to fill out the paper work and take her home.\u00a0 However, to our young college naive selves, we were alarmed when they wanted to contact the apartment complex we were living in to make sure we could indeed, have a dog.\u00a0 They said that until they reached someone to verify with, we would be unable to adopt a pet.\u00a0 Another family swooped in and wanted to take our newly found pup away.\u00a0 However, I sat and held her outside for 2 hours until the maintenance man at the complex could be reached to verify that we could have the dog.\u00a0 Finally &#8211; it paid off and we got our pup!\u00a0 TULIP!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I know, you are like &#8211; wait&#8230;.\u00a0 I thought this was a story about Amelia.\u00a0 Funny thing here is that Amelia is the doggie formerly known as Tulip!\u00a0 As soon as we left the parking lot her name was forever changed!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This sweet little girl still plays like a pup.\u00a0 She loves the porch, its her favorite room &#8220;in the house&#8221;, and she loves the sunshine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We held her 10th birthday party this weekend.\u00a0 She and her guest, Iliana, feasted on plates set up like sushi trays with doggie cookies, doggie meat snacks, and dollops of peanut butter.\u00a0 (And no, neither one of them wanted anything to do with a party hat.)\u00a0 After the tasty party food Amelia opened her present.\u00a0 She got a giant green lobster &#8211; with a squeaker inside!\u00a0 She promptly took it, shook it, ran with it, chewed it, and would not let it out of her sight.\u00a0 She told us before she went to bed on Saturday night that it was her best birthday ever.<\/p>\n<p>God bless that little Mealboze.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who could believe that Amelia &#8211;
