will and i were fortunate enough that he heard about discounted casting crowns tickets while rockin’ out to the radio last week, and was able to get us an awesome deal on some tickets to the concert at the RBC center.  i checked on-line for the tickets a few months back and saw they were about $70 each.  knowing that we did not have that kind of cashola to splurge on some concert tickets around the holidays i figured we would just have to catch the show next time they were in town.  then, when husband found the great deal, he surprised me with the ticket purchase!

casting crowns is husband’s all time favorite!  he turned me on to them about a year ago when he started heavily listening to christian radio on his car rides to and from work.  so many of their songs really have powerfull messages that hit you right in your spirit, right where you need it.

the concert was everything we hoped it would be and really made the words of our favorite songs hit even closer to home.

we wanted to share our favorite:

Praise You in This Storm
Words by Mark Hall/Music by Mark Hall & Bernie Herms

I was sure by now, God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it’s still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
“I’m with you”
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus:
And I’ll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can’t find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

Chorus

I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

Chorus
